What kind of issues do people bring to this work?

People come with all kinds of concerns — relationship pain, anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, burnout, low self-worth, or feeling stuck after trying many things. Some have experienced trauma, intergenerational trauma, addiction, or a Kundalini crisis. You don’t need a diagnosis or label to begin — just curiosity and a wish to feel more like yourself.

Do I need to have done therapy or healing work before?

Not at all. Some are brand new to this, others have years of therapy or coaching behind them. Wherever you are on your journey, you’re welcome here.

Is this like therapy?

This is not traditional talk therapy or a licensed mental health service. It’s a deeply integrative approach combining somatics, subconscious reprogramming, creativity, and nervous system support. Many people come to this work after trying therapy and still feeling something was missing. While it’s not psychotherapy, it is deeply therapeutic — working with the body, emotions, and subconscious beliefs to create real, felt change.

What is Quantum Energy Coaching (QEC)?

QEC is a gentle yet powerful process based on Gestalt principles. It works directly with the subconscious mind to release limiting beliefs and install new, supportive ones — often leading to rapid and lasting shifts. You don’t need to “figure it all out” — the process helps you do the heavy lifting.

What is the Tamalpa Institute’s somatic expressive arts approach?

This approach blends movement, imagery, creativity, and body awareness to help your body express what words cannot. It supports healing and self-discovery through expressive arts practices that honor your unique pace and style. No dance or art experience is needed — this meets you where you are.

What’s a session like?

Each session is collaborative and tailored to you. We begin with a check-in, and from there we might explore sensations, memories, or beliefs — through conversation, body awareness, movement, drawing, breathing, or stillness. We may work with subconscious dialogue, expressive arts, and energetic integration. Some clients find their voice in conversation; others in movement or quiet. There’s no right or wrong way — just what feels alive for you.

Do I have to be spiritual or artistic?

Not at all. You don’t need to meditate, do yoga, or be creative or “in your body.” Just bring your willingness to show up as you are — that’s more than enough.

Is this trauma work?

Yes, often. But we go gently. Trauma is held in the body and nervous system, so this work creates space for integration — without retraumatizing or diving into stories unless it feels safe and helpful. We move at your pace. Safety always comes first.

How long is a session?

Sessions are 90 minutes long, giving us the time to slow down, settle in, and move deeply without rush.

What is the cost?

Sessions are offered on a sliding scale from $120 to $180 per 90-minute session. You choose the rate that reflects your current financial reality. I also offer a free 20-minute intro call to connect and answer your questions before we begin.

How does payment work?

Payment is due in advance of your session to hold your spot. You can pay via Zelle or PayPal — details will be provided when you book.

Can we work online?

Yes. Sessions are held via Zoom and translate beautifully online, so you can engage from wherever you are.
